Microneedling in Victoria, BC | An Individual Approach to Your Skin
At Aesthetics at Juniper, microneedling begins with an assessment of your skin and a discussion of your goals. Our naturopathic doctors will help you understand the procedure and whether it is an appropriate option for you.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling uses a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. It is a procedure that requires assessment, informed consent, and appropriate aftercare.
Your practitioner will explain the treatment approach recommended for you, including its anticipated benefits and limitations. Results and recovery vary between individuals.
Is It Suitable for Me?
Suitability depends on your skin concerns, health history, medications, and current skin condition. Some conditions or circumstances may mean treatment should be postponed or another approach considered.
Please tell your practitioner about any active skin infections, history of unusual scarring, recent procedures, or medications and skincare products you use.
What Happens at an Appointment?
Before Treatment
We review your health history, assess your skin, and discuss your goals. Your practitioner explains the procedure, potential risks, alternatives, fees, and aftercare before you decide whether to proceed.
During Treatment
Your practitioner prepares your skin and carries out the procedure using an approach selected for your treatment plan. Comfort measures and what you may feel during treatment will be discussed beforehand.
After Treatment
You receive instructions on skincare, sun protection, activities to avoid, and when to contact the clinic. Follow-up and any further appointments are discussed according to your response and goals.
Common Questions
Will I need more than one appointment?
Some treatment plans involve multiple appointments. Your practitioner will discuss a proposed schedule after assessing your skin rather than recommending the same series for everyone.
What is recovery like?
Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, or dryness may occur. Recovery depends on the treatment and your skin. We’ll discuss what to expect and help you plan around upcoming activities.
Can I continue my usual skincare?
Some products may need to be paused before or after treatment. Bring a list or photos of your products so your practitioner can provide specific instructions.
