What is auricular Acupuncture?
Auricular acupuncture became recognized in 1972 when a neurosurgeon discovered that acupuncture alleviated withdrawal symptoms in opiate dependent patients who were undergoing surgical analgesia. It is now used successfully in the treatment of addictions and behavioural health issues including stress and trauma.
It's all about the NADA protocol...
The ear in the photo above is showing the NADA protocol, standing for “National Acupuncture Detoxification Association”, an internationally recognized treatment protocol using auricular acupuncture. NADA helps detoxify the body while calming and balancing the body-mind.
What are the health benefits of auricular Acupuncture?
• Reduced cravings (smoking, alcohol, drugs, food, etc.).
• Stress relief and emotional balancing.
• Elevates mood and feelings of well being.
• Improved energy.
• Discovery of inner calm and grounding.
• Can help PTSD symptoms.
• Sleep and digestion.
• Improved intention for recovery.
What can I expect if I try the NADA protocol?
The NADA protocol involves five fine sterile acupuncture needles in each ear. Treatment time is approximately 25 - 45 minutes, for 2 – 3 treatments per week during recovery and craving cessation. During treatment you do not need to talk. You are encouraged to rest mindfully or to take a nap while the pins do their work. Additional points may be added on the head or body to support individual health concerns.
