In order to change the state of the body we need to indirectly shift our state of mind. The main focus of this class is to gently shift the body away from chronic stress into a parasympathetic “rest and digest” state where the body is able to rejuvenate and heal. It will encompass an educational workshop on adrenal health, Yoga Nidra meditation therapy, and pranayama breathing techniques.
This class will empower you with the tools that you need to better support your body’s ability to cope with stress on and off the mat.
No prior experience with yoga is necessary, beginners are all welcome.
Please bring your own blanket, pillow, yoga mat & any other yoga props you may have to best support your body during the practice.
Sarah is a Certified Yoga Instructor with advanced training in Hatha yoga, Pranayama Breathing, Anatomy, and Meditation. She started practicing yoga after returning home from a six month backpacking trip with chronic digestive pain. Sarah visited many different doctors and specialists all of whom had no definitive answers or cures for her digestive problems. She came to accept that she would have to live with stomach pain for the rest of her life, and began to give up hope.
Sarah started taking yoga classes regularly as a way to help manage her symptoms and support her body back into health. Practicing regularly has provided her with the skills to better manage stress, reduce anxiety, and increase self love. As a result her digestive problems have completely gone away. Yoga has strengthened her ability to communicate with her body as she has discovered how to ask her body what it needs rather then telling it.
